Sustainable Agriculture
This week, I had the pleasure of traveling to the breathtaking Laikipia County, where I experienced firsthand the innovative approaches being embraced for sustainable agriculture. One of the highlights of my journey was visiting the renowned Trout Tree restaurant in Nanyuki, a gem not only for its hospitality but also for its dedication to sustainable practices.
The restaurant runs its own trout fishponds, offering guests the unique experience of enjoying fresh, farm-to-table trout. This initiative is a testament to how agritourism can integrate sustainability and offer value-added experiences while supporting local ecosystems.
As a Food Safety Auditor and advocate for sustainability, this visit deeply resonated with me. Seeing such practices in action reinforces the importance of food safety and sustainability in our agricultural and hospitality sectors.
I am passionate about supporting organizations like these to enhance their systems, whether through HACCP implementation, food safety audits, or developing robust quality assurance programs.
